Visiting Baby Ali

Today we went up to Primary Children's hospital to visit my cousin Jeff and his wife, Amber and to see their baby girl, Ali, who is in the NICU. Ali was born in Pocatello on December 12th and was flown to Salt Lake shortly after her birth because she has pulmonary hypertension.

Her condition has been really up and down, but she has been doing really well this weekend. They were able to take Baby Ali off her ventilator yesterday. She is soooo beautiful and tiny. Her skin is so soft and it was so cute to feel her little toes would curl around my finger. She weighs just over 8 lbs and she weighed 7 lbs 8 oz when she was born.

It's crazy to think that Amber and I almost had the same due date for our babies. She was originally due on January 6th and I was due on January 8th. The doctor's had planned to induce her on December 29th but the baby decided to come early...at about 36 1/2 weeks.

It was great to see Jeff and Amber. They are so upbeat and positive and Jeff totally cracked us up with all his jokes! I really admire them both for their strength and courage in the face of trials. We will continue to keep them in our prayers and we're hoping they get to take Baby Ali home very soon!!

Here are some pictures of their little cutie!
